People Risk
The Ontario Employer’s Guide to Employment Law, Workplace Investigations, and the Decisions That Cost the Most
Most Ontario employers do not find out what employment law requires until they are defending a decision they already made. People Risk is the guide to the decisions that cost the most, and how to get them right before the mistake is made.

Written for the owner who is also the HR department, the operations manager who handles people issues because no one else does, and the general manager who knows they should understand this better than they do.
Who this book is for
People Risk is written in plain language for Ontario employers who do not have a dedicated HR director and do not want to learn employment law by getting sued. No legalese. No abstract theory. Each chapter is a decision an Ontario employer routinely faces, the mistake that quietly creates the liability, and the version that holds up when it is challenged.
The book reflects fifteen years of Ontario and federal labour relations practice, current case law, and the realities of what the Ministry of Labour, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, and the courts are doing today.
